Who needs to file

Many people think they do not need to file. Most are wrong.

Filing an ITR is about more than taxes. It helps with refunds, loans, visa applications, and staying compliant with tax rules. If any of the situations below sound familiar, you should file.

Salaried employees

Income above the basic exemption limit? Filing is required, and often gets you a refund.

Freelancers & professionals

Consultants, creators and gig workers must report income and can claim business expenses.

Business owners

Proprietors, partners and directors file to stay compliant and carry forward losses.

Investors & traders

Capital gains from stocks, mutual funds, crypto or property need to be reported correctly.

Rental & multi-income

House-property income, interest and side income all belong on a single, accurate return.

NRIs & foreign income

Income earned in India, or foreign assets to disclose, mean a return is mandatory.

HUF

House property, interest, capital gains, business and other income all go on the HUF's return.

Senior citizens & retirees

Pension, fixed deposits, investments, rent and capital gains can still make an ITR due after retirement.

FY 2025–26 filing is open now

Filing early is the simplest way to remove stress. Faster refunds, time to fix any mismatch, and no scramble as the deadline nears. Start today and you are done before July even arrives.

FAQ

Tax questions, answered simply

How much does ITR filing cost?

Our ITR filing charges are simple and clear, and you pay only after your return is filed. The fee depends on how complex your case is — a basic salaried ITR costs less than a return with capital gains, business income or foreign assets. You will always see the price before you approve, with nothing to pay in advance.

Do I really pay only after the return is filed?

Yes, you pay only after your ITR is filed, never before. We prepare your full return, show you a clear summary of your refund or tax payable, and you pay our fee only after you approve it and we file. There is nothing to pay upfront.

Which documents do I need to file?

For most salaried people, you just need your PAN, Form 16, bank account details and proof of any deductions like 80C, 80D or home loan interest. For business or capital gains cases, we send you a short checklist made for your situation. In many cases, we can also pull your AIS and Form 26AS directly.

Can I file my ITR without Form 16?

Yes, you can file without Form 16. It makes salaried filing faster, but it is not compulsory. If you changed jobs, are self-employed or simply do not have it, we prepare your return from your salary slips, bank statements and your AIS / Form 26AS, which we can pull directly. We check everything so your return stays accurate.

Can I send my documents on WhatsApp?

Yes, you can simply WhatsApp us your Form 16 and other documents. Most of our clients do exactly that, and we take it from there. It is the easiest way to share files and get quick answers. If you prefer, you can also email them or use a secure upload link.

Old regime or new regime — which one should I choose?

It depends on your deductions and income, and we work it out for you. Every year we calculate your tax under both the old regime and the new regime, and file under whichever one makes you pay less. You do not have to figure out the comparison yourself.

How long does ITR filing take?

A normal salaried return is usually ready in 1–2 working days, once we have your documents, and we file as soon as you approve. More complex returns — capital gains, business income, NRI or foreign assets — take a little longer, and we always give you a clear timeline first. Filing early also means you get your refund sooner.

Can NRIs file their returns through Plus & Minus?

Yes, we regularly file ITR for NRIs who have income in India, such as rent, capital gains, interest or salary. We also help with your residential status, DTAA relief to avoid double tax, and foreign-asset reporting. Everything is done online, so it does not matter where in the world you are.

Can you help me with a tax notice?

Yes, just forward us any income tax notice you receive — like 143(1), 139(9), 245 or 133(6). We explain in plain language what it actually means, prepare the correct reply before the deadline, and handle it for you until the matter is fully resolved.

I missed the 31 July deadline. What can I do now?

You can still file a belated return, usually up to 31 December of the assessment year, with a late fee under section 234F and some interest. If even that date has passed, you may be able to file an updated return (ITR-U). Just send us your details and we will tell you the best option for your case.

I already filed but made a mistake. Can it be corrected?

Yes, a mistake in your filed ITR can be fixed. As long as the revised return window is open (usually up to 31 December of the assessment year), we file a revised return to correct any errors or missed details. We then match everything with the department's records so your return is clean.
